A woman from the city of Lynnwood, Washington state, discovered several months later that she had a winning lottery ticket valued at $135,000.
The lucky winner, known only by her initials MB, bought her ‘Hit 5’ lottery ticket from a vending machine at the local Fred Meyer store while shopping for dinner.
The woman found out about the prize only after her husband suggested she check if the ticket had won.
Following his advice, she scanned her ticket at a vending machine, which displayed a message telling her to go to the Regional Lottery Office to collect her prize.
After following the instructions, he was given a printed receipt confirming his $135,000 win.
This unexpected fortune comes as a relief for MB, who said that this award will allow him to live debt-free.
