Actor Richard Lewis lost his life this day, February 28, at the age of 76. The above was announced by the famous performer’s publicist, Jeff Abrahams, who revealed that the American died due to a heart attack on the night of last Tuesday, February 27.
In the same statement, Abrahams revealed that the artist was at his home in the city of Los Angeles when the fateful event occurred. However, as revealed so far, Lewis died “peacefully.”
It should be remembered that after moving away from the public eye and acting in 2015, it was revealed, just in April 2023, that the actor suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
Richard Lewis: a pillar of American comedy
With more than 40 years of experience, Richard Lewis began his career in acting through various television films or series such as “House Calls”, “Harry”, “CBS Summer Playhouse”, among others.
Prior to this, Lewis debuted on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” in 1974. Thanks to this performance, and his great talent for comedy, the American established himself on the Hollywood acting scene through various roles in programs like “Anything But Love”, among other productions.
Subsequently, and after a long career on television, the actor made the big leap to the big screen through various films such as “Once Upon a Time”, “Robin Hood: Men in Tights”, “Leaving Las Vegas”, “The Elevator”, “Confessions Of An Action Star”, among others.
In his last years as an actor, Richard Lewis was also part of renowned productions such as “Two and Half Men”, “The Simpsons”, “The Dead Zone”, “Law and Order: SVU”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”.

After the announcement of the death of Richard Lewis, various actors and companies have shown their condolences to the actor’s family. Larry David, Lewis’ “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star, posted: “Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he has been like a brother to me.”
Likewise, an HBO spokesperson mentioned Lewis’ genius, wit and comedic talent in a statement.
