French fries like your favorite brand is possible with this simple recipe in which we explain certain tricks to achieve that crispy consistency, but made at home.
For this recipe, few ingredients are used, as simple as potatoes, oil and a little salt.
Potatoes are a tuber rich in carbohydrates, low in protein, rich in vitamin C and are a good source of several B vitamins and potassium. While potato skin provides a substantial amount of dietary fiber, a study indicates.
They are so delicious and versatile that there are many ways to prepare them that make them the ideal side dish or snack.
In this installment we share a recipe for TN French fries, which are the same as the potatoes that come in commercial brand bags.
Ingredients:
2 large potatoes
Extra virgin olive oil or sunflower oil

Preparation mode:
- The first thing to do is wash and dry the potatoes. Then proceed to cut them into thin slices approximately 2 millimeters thick.
- For very thin slices it is recommended to use a mandoline or a very sharp knife.
- Once you have the potato slices, they should be washed in cold water, this will eliminate excess starch, which will help make the potatoes crispier.
- Then dry the potatoes with a kitchen towel or kitchen paper to remove excess liquid, set aside while the oil is heated for frying. A trick to make them crispier is to keep them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- In a deep frying pan over medium-high heat, add plenty of oil and bring it to a temperature of 180 °C. With a kitchen thermometer you can measure the ideal temperature for frying the potatoes.
- One of the recommendations so that the temperature of the oil does not drop is to fry the potatoes in batches, to prevent them from sticking together, for an estimated time between 2 and 3 minutes, until they turn golden brown and then place them on absorbent paper to excess oil.
To season the potatoes, add salt to taste, or the spices of your preference such as paprika, oregano. black pepper or garlic powder. Another option is to make potatoes with cheese, sprinkling the fries with grated cheese before serving them and a classic that everyone loves to accompany with the sauce of your choice such as ketchup, barbecue sauce or mayonnaise.
