The Brazilian Vinícius Junior showed his leadership status this Saturday at the Mestalla stadium with a double to avoid Real Madrid’s defeat against Valencia and leave the score at 2-2.

In a match that was closely contested from the first minutes, Madrid first warned in the 17th minute with a shot from Camavinga that ended up in the hands of goalkeeper Mamardashvili.

But Valencia continued to bite and went ahead in the 27th minute with a goal from Hugo Duro thanks to a bad delivery from Valverde that ended up being recovered by Guerra, who sent it to Foulquier and he made a delivery to Fran Pérez who finished alone but in a mistake and Hugo Duro finished the play with a header.

Valencia’s pressure continued during the first half and paid off again in the 30th minute with a goal from Yaremchuk, who took advantage of a blunder by Dani Carvajal as the white team started.

With Valencia’s second goal, the merengue team seemed to wake up with a couple of chances at the end of the first half from Camavinga and Valverde, but it was Vinícius who would score Madrid’s first goal at minute 5 of added time to the first half thanks to a great center by Dani Carvajal.

Already in the second half, Valencia seemed a little more cautious and retreated to try to sustain the attacks of the meringues, especially those of Vinícius, Kross and Bellingham.

Madrid goalkeeper Lunin also had to intervene on a couple of occasions with saves that kept the white goal safe.

However, Madrid continued to insist until in the 76th minute, Vini providentially reached a cross from Brahim to make it 2-2 with a saving header.

The actions continued until the 97th minute with time added by referee Gil Manzano, who found himself involved in controversy, first because of a penalty that was annulled against Valencia, and second because he whistled the end of the game just before Bellingham scored the goal. Real Madrid’s victory.

In what was the last play of the game, Madrid had a corner that was rejected and fell at the feet of Brahim, who sent the center to Bellingham and the Englishman managed to put the ball in the goal.

However, just when the ball sent by Brahim was in the air, the referee whistled the end of the game.
