After Fluminense’s exciting victory over LDU Quito in the final of the Recopa Sudamericana, the Brazilian team returned to reality by losing 2-4 to Botafogo in the Carioca Championship.

The match was closely contested from start to finish and reached its climax in the final minutes. In a surreal moment, in the sixth added minute of the second half, with Fluminense desperately trying to come back, a Botafogo player “was injured” and took advantage of the situation to waste time.

With Fluminense trailing 2-3, the Botafogo striker was on the ground after taking a hit, as time continued to tick.

HAHAHA, unusual moment in Botafogo-Fluminense.

Yarlen suffers a blow to the face, falls off the court, at MINUTE 98, with Botafogo winning and this happens.

The local players did not take the injury simulation well and the Fluminense goalkeeper decided to drag the player off the field to resume play.

The situation became even more surreal when the Botafogo players carried their teammate back onto the field to try to stop play and allow him to receive medical attention.

After tempers calmed down and the match continued, it was Botafogo who took the three points by winning 2-4.
