In just over four weeks, millions of Social Security beneficiaries will receive their April Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment, which can be up to $943 for individual filers.

This next payment, which will be given on April 1, will be sent to people who suffer from severe disabilities, and who also have little income.

To be eligible for SSI payments, you must be age 65 or older, be at least partially blind, or have a physical or mental condition that seriously limits daily activities for a period of 12 months or more, or is expected to result in death.

The maximum amount that applicants can receive varies depending on how they file taxes: individually or together with their partner.

Individual applicants can receive up to $943 per month, couples up to $1,415 per month.

A group of beneficiaries known as essential people, who are those who live with those who receive SSI to care for their daily needs, will also receive payments.

They can get up to $472 dollars per month.

These amounts have an increase of 3.2% compared to 2023, an adjustment made to compensate for inflation.

These payments are made in addition to regular Social Security benefits for those who qualify for both, although not all recipients will receive the maximum amount.
