Inter Miami’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez recently acquired a new property in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Florida, near his close friend, the Argentine Lionel Messi, with whom he shared a successful time at FC Barcelona.

According to a report from Infobae, Suárez bought an impressive mansion in the exclusive gated residential complex of Bay Colony in Fort Lauderdale for a value of $11.5 million dollars.

The proximity of Suárez and Messi’s new residences in Miami symbolizes the strong connection they have off the playing fields. Messi purchased a property in the same neighborhood a few months earlier for $10.8 million.

The mansion that Suárez and his wife Sofía Balbi chose for their new life in the United States stands out for its luxury and comforts. As reported by The Real Deal, the property was acquired in a private transaction after a major renovation in 2020, which raised its value from the initial $3.5 million to the $11.5 million they finally paid.

The choice of the Bay Colony neighborhood was partly because of its strategic location and its proximity to the Inter Miami training center and its stadium. The complex is also a few minutes from the prestigious Pine Crest school, known for its high academic level that the “Pistolero” children will enjoy.

The mansion has eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and offers spacious and luxurious interior spaces in its almost 500 square meters. The property also has a swimming pool, a gym room, a spa, access to a lake and 24-hour security.

Suárez’s move to Miami and the purchase of this impressive mansion not only show his interest in starting a new chapter in his MLS career, but also in maintaining and strengthening family and friendship ties with Messi and his close circle.
