The Mega Millions jackpot saw a considerable increase, now offering an impressive $687 million, this after Tuesday night’s drawing concluded with no one matching all the numbers.

The numbers revealed that night were 2, 49, 50, 61, and 70, with a Mega ball of 14 and a Megaplier of 2X.

Although no one won the jackpot, two lucky participants, one in California and the other in Michigan, managed to match all five white numbers, thus taking home the game’s second level prize, which is $1 million dollars each.

Next Friday, March 8, the $687 million prize will be the sixth largest prize in the history of the game.

As the payment of the $687 million is given in annual payments over 29 years, the winner will have the option of collecting a single sum immediately in cash, but it will be a smaller amount: $332.3 million dollars.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, according to game organizers.

The last time the Mega Millions grand prize was awarded was on December 8 in California, when two lucky people matched all six numbers to take home $395 million.

Since then, no one has won and the prize has been increasing.

The cost of a Mega Millions ticket is $2 and you can add an extra dollar for the Megaplier option.

Tickets are available in 45 states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Those interested in participating have until 9:45 pm on the day of the drawing to purchase their ticket.
