The Venezuelan catcher and New York Mets player in the Major Leagues, Francisco Álvarez, has worked hard during spring training to be able to have a better performance than the one recorded in his debut during the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) campaign and thus being able to support the metropolitan organization.

“I have no doubt that the three of us will hit the same number of home runs. I don’t know how many, but I’m sure it will be more than 30,” said the Venezuelan mask when asked about the confidence he has about the home runs he hopes to hit.
Francisco Álvarez was also questioned in his interview about the personal objectives he wants to record in the championship for the 2024 season and was even mentioned if he is willing to break the home run record for a catcher that Mike Piazza owns within the New York Mets .
The slugger stated that he will always want to mark a historic event with the New Yorkers and that he is willing to break that mark and all the ones he can within the organization to ensure his ownership.
“I think I can achieve something similar to Piazza. If he hit 40 home runs, then I will hit 41,” the Venezuelan stated in his statements, trusting in the performance he will have with the wood.
In this Major League preseason, Francisco Álvarez has an average of .200 with two hits and a home run, two RBIs and one run scored in 10 at-bats. During 2023, the catcher left an average of .209 cpm with 80 hits, 25 home runs, 63 RBIs and 52 runs scored in 382 at-bats.
Álvarez happy with his home run
A few days ago, the Venezuelan catcher himself stated that he felt quite happy for having hit a home run so early during spring training because it showed that the practices he had been doing were giving results.
