February 29 is a day that will live forever in the memory of James E. and his wife, since it was the date on which the fat man was beaten in a very unique way.
The couple, who reside in the city of Conway, in the state of Arkansas, decided to go out to dinner to celebrate her birthday.
On the way back, they made what would turn out to be a very fortunate stop: they visited the Dave Ward Drive Satterfield convenience store in Conway.
At that moment, the woman decided to ask her husband to buy her a lottery ticket as a birthday gift. She chose one from the Lotto draw.
The woman thought it would bring her luck because the drawing would take place on her birthday.
The wife shared with Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials her wish that day: “It was my birthday, and what I wanted was a ticket. But not just any ticket, a winning one.”
This wish came true days later when they checked the ticket and discovered that it had matched five of the six winning numbers in the drawing, winning them a $25,000 prize.
The couple plans to use their new fortune to install a new fence on their home as they prepare to care for their grandchildren’s puppy this summer.
“We can’t let that little new furry family member get away,” said the lucky winner.
