A Burger King branch in Envigado, Colombia, is in the eye of the hurricane after a video went viral on social networks showing a naked man bathing in a water tank at the restaurant.

As a result of this incident, Burger King has decided to temporarily close the establishment until further notice.

The video, which has generated outrage and repudiation among social media users, shows the individual entering one of the 3 water tanks located on the roof of the Burger King location. This act was classified by the famous fast food chain as “improper use of the property”, which motivated the closure measure with the purpose of addressing and resolving the situation.

In response to the controversy, Burger King issued a statement clarifying that the water in which the man bathed corresponds to one of the restaurant’s reserve tanks, which has not been used in months. The chain assured that the processes of food preparation, handling of utensils and cleaning of the facilities were not at risk.

However, despite the explanations provided by Burger King, some users on social networks expressed their disagreement and criticized the presence of water stored for months in the restaurant. This criticism highlights concerns about hygiene and safety standards in fast food establishments.

So far, the fast food chain has not been able to determine how the individual managed to access the water tank. However, it has committed to carrying out a thorough sanitation process at the establishment and looking for ways to improve safety levels at its facilities.

The temporary closure of the branch of this Burger King in Colombia highlights the importance of maintaining hygiene and safety standards in fast food establishments. In addition, it demonstrates the need to take appropriate measures in the face of unusual situations that may compromise the integrity of customers and the reputation of the brand.

The fast food chain has not provided an estimated date for the reopening of the Envigado branch, but assures that it is working diligently to resolve the incident and restore its customers’ confidence in the safety and quality of its products.
