A man of Latino origin was arrested by authorities for stealing the leg of a person who died when he was hit by a train in the city of Wasco in Kern County. The subject was captured by some workers who could not believe that he bit and hit his leg while walking down an avenue.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office in California reported the arrest of a man identified as Resendo Tellez, 27, charged with one count of removing human remains from a place other than a cemetery.

The officers’ report says Tellez took a leg from an investigation scene after an unidentified person was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in the city of Wasco.

So far, they have not specified whether the body part that Tellez was carrying belonged to the person who was fatally hit by the train.

The KBAK network released a video that was taken by some construction workers who were placing concrete at an Amtrak train station, when they saw Resendo Tellez walking with the human body part in his hands.

“He started chewing it, biting it and hitting it against the wall”

Witnesses saw in a video that has been censored due to the strong images, of how the person shook his leg, hit it and then bit it.

“I’m not sure where, but he was walking over here and shaking someone’s leg. And he started chewing it there, he bit it and hit it against the wall and everything,” José Ibarra told KBAK.

Kern County authorities said Resendo Tellez appears to be homeless, and appears to have several outstanding warrants.

He was arrested by officers who were investigating the train accident.
