The friendly match between Honduras and El Salvador on Tuesday night left mixed feelings. On the one hand, Honduras added its fourth consecutive game without victory, while El Salvador celebrated Brayan Gil Hurtado’s great goal, which gave them a 1-1 draw.

Brayan Gil Hurtado, a Colombian nationalized Salvadoran player, scored a spectacular goal after receiving a cross from the right and connecting with a volley, beating goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar to make the score 1-0 in favor of El Salvador.

Although Honduras showed an improvement in its level of play compared to the defeat against Costa Rica, the Honduran team has now accumulated four games without being able to celebrate, which generates concern.

From the start of the match at the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, El Salvador demonstrated its superiority, which led coach Reinaldo Rueda to make early changes, such as the entry of Bryan Róchez for Darixon Vuelto and Carlos Meléndez for José Mario Pinto in the 40th minute.

In addition, at halftime Andy Nájar came on for Carlos Argueta and Edwin Rodríguez for Alex López.

In the 61st minute, Andy Nájar managed to reach the baseline and crossed so that Brayan Róchez, the National Team’s top scorer in recent games, connected with a header and tied the game 1-1.

From that moment on, Honduras took control of the match, but despite their dominance they were unable to secure victory. With this result, Honduras has four games without winning, a streak that generates concern in the team.
