The hotel where musician Bob Marley once took refuge has just entered the real estate market. According to the new biopic ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ (2024), Bob Marley stayed at this hotel after the assassination attempt in the 1970s.

The property is available for $16.8 million dollars, it should be noted that this residence has entered the real estate market shortly after the premiere of ‘Bob Marley: One Love’, the biographical film directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and starring Kingsley Ben- Adir.

On the other hand, this hotel is also attractive because it is one of the favorite places in Jamaica of the band The Rolling Stones and the singer Willie Nelson. The Strawberry Hill Hotel has also been included in the book ‘1000 Places to See Before You Die’ by Patricia Schultz.

This hotel is built on a 26-acre lot located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. The place was originally built in the 18th century.

Currently the hotel belongs to Chris Blackwell, who acquired the property in 1974. After Hurricane Gilbert in the 1980s, renovations had to be made to the place. For that, Blackwell hired local architect Ann Hodges.

Today, this hotel offers 13 Georgian-style cottages, restaurants, bar, spa, yoga rooms, swimming pool, helipad, pergolas and green areas. One of the greatest attractions of the place is the nature that surrounds it. There are coffee plantations, giant swallowtail butterflies and more than 300 species of birds.

According to ‘Robb Report’, the happy buyer will also be able to develop an expansion project on the site. It seems that the construction of 16 new villas has already been approved.
