Spanish football experienced a dark day this Saturday due to episodes of racism in the match between Getafe and Sevilla (0-2) in which Quique Sánchez Flores was allegedly called a “Gypsy” and Acuña was called a “monkey.”
And another case was Sarr, goalkeeper of Rayo Majadahonda, second division in Spain, who decided to go straight to the stands for the aggressors after being rebuked. He was expelled and all of his teammates refused to continue with the game. They went to the locker room and did not return to the field.
Vinícius, one of the footballers who has also suffered the scourge of racism in football stadiums, did not hesitate to demonstrate through networks in support of his ‘colleagues’. He showed support for the clubs (Sevilla and Rayo Majadahonda) and those directly affected (Quique, Acuña and Sarr).
“This weekend, I won’t even play. But we had three despicable cases of racism in Spain this Saturday alone.
All my support to Acuña and coach Quique Flores, of SevillaFC. To Sarr and Rayo Majadahonda, may his bravery inspire others. Racists must be exposed and the games cannot continue with them in the stands. We will only have victory when the racists leave the stadiums straight to jail, a place they deserve.”
Chilavert attacked Vinícius again
“Don’t be a faggot, football is for men,” expressed José Luis Chilavert through ‘X’ on March 26, one day after Vinicius’ press conference in Valdebebas in which the Brazilian winger burst into tears. . Now, on Argentine radio Splendid AM, he has spoken out again on the matter and appears not to have changed his mind.
“Why was what I said to Vinicius strong? For having common sense? Why does he start crying? He said that he wants black people to be able to live better, so what do white people have to do? Do we have to commit suicide? What is the theme like? We should not distort things,” the former Vélez legend began by saying.
He continued: “Discrimination exists in Argentina, in France, in the world. When I arrived from Paraguay they called me starving, that I was stealing money. Look for the insults from the Argentine public.”
“What I put on my Twitter is that football is for men. When in Paraguay we say don’t be a faggot, it’s not derogatory at all. The Netflix cameras were there and he started crying, what is left for a brunette who earns 300 dollars and has to feed 4 children? He plays for Real Madrid. Apart from that, he is the first to attack rivals,” he stated.
And he concluded: “When the Brazilian police beat the Argentine and Boca fans to death, where was Vinicius, who is an example of Brazil’s leaders? They hit the boys, women and veterans. When they hit you, everything is fine, but then you disrespect them and they start crying.”
