The Social Security payment schedule is ready for retirees who expect to receive their contributions for the month of April and the checks could be worth more than the average payments if people are eligible.
There are only a few days left until the payment of $2,710 dollars, and Social Security announced that this will be the maximum payment for people who are 62 years old in 2024.
Requirements for the payment of $2,710 dollars in April
The first thing is to apply for Social Security at age 62. People who apply later can get more money from the Social Security Administration (SSA). Early retirement at age 62 is not highly recommended because you get a smaller amount. If you do not want this reduction to be applied to you, it is best to delay filing until age 70, since doing so will result in a 24% increase in monthly payments during retirement.
Another requirement is to have worked a minimum of 35 years in jobs covered by the SSA. Those who have worked fewer years will also see a reduction in the checks they will receive. And the last requirement is to earn the maximum taxable amount for 35 years.
Rules to qualify for the April 3 payment
The Social Security Administration will only send checks of up to $2,710 to retirees who received benefits before May 1997.
Another group of people can also receive retirement benefits, however, their Social Security payment will be much less if they receive SSI at the same time, so their average payment will be $1,910.
People who do not qualify for the April 3 payment can obtain it on the following dates:
· April 10: if your birthday is between the 1st and the 10th
· April 17: if your birthday is between the 11th and the 20th
· April 24: if your birthday is between the 21st and the 31st
