Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, Mexican boxer, was crowned the new super lightweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) after defeating the American Rolando Romero by technical knockout in an exciting fight held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cruz, with a record of 26 victories, 18 by fast track, two defeats and a draw, dominated from the beginning of the fight, connecting powerful and accurate blows to dominate Romero, who could only resist the Aztec’s attacks.

The Mexican continued his dominance in the following rounds, punishing Romero with hooks and uppercuts. In the seventh round, Cruz intensified his offensive, forcing the doctor to recommend stopping the fight before the eighth round due to the punishment received by Romero.

After becoming champion, Isaac Cruz challenged the best in the category, such as Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney, declaring that he is prepared for any challenge.

“Whoever comes next, I’m dangerous. There is a belt that supports me. “I’m prepared for a Gervonta (Davis), a (Devin) Haney or whoever wants to try the ‘Pitbull’ blows,” said the new WBA super lightweight champion in statements reported by EFE.
