The Major Leagues have taken little time to react to the controversy registered in the game between Milwaukee Brewer and New York Mets, in which Dominican pitcher Yohan Ramírez made an apparently intentional pitch that was close to hitting batter Rhys Hoskins, something that caused The benches will be emptied for the second consecutive game.

The MLB announced this Sunday the respective sanctions for this altercation, indicating a three-game suspension for Yohan Ramírez, in addition to a fine for an undisclosed amount. Initially, the Dominican pitcher was going to begin serving his sanction this Sunday, but he decided to appeal it and will be able to continue playing until the league studies the appeal and issues its decision again on this case.

Dominican Génesis Cabrera was also sanctioned

On the other hand, Dominican pitcher Génesis Cabrera of the Toronto Blue Jays was also sanctioned for the altercation he had with Panamanian José Caballero during the game against Tampa Bay Ray on Saturday in which the dugouts of both teams were also emptied.

Cabrera received a sanction similar to that of his Mets compatriot, a three-game suspension and a financial fine, the amount of which was not disclosed. However, he did not hesitate for a moment and immediately filed his appeal for this case.

The Blue Jays reliever started an altercation in Saturday’s game against the Rays, after giving a push in which his hands ended up hitting José Caballero’s face, who could not react since he was quickly removed by shortstop Bo Bichette .

The benches of both teams were immediately emptied, but the situation did not escalate thanks to the fact that the coaching staff and umpires quickly stopped the players. The main referee of the match decided to expel Génesis Cabrera.
