The former footballer, Luis Roberto Alves ‘Zague’, dedicated a moving message to his mother Cleide Gavranic Alves dos Santos after her death on Friday, March 29.
The former Mexican national team shared the words to his mother moments after his death, through his Instagram account (@lrzague).
“Imagine that you are on the seashore and you see a ship leaving. You keep watching, as it moves away, further and further away until finally just a dot appears on the horizon.
There the sea and the sky meet. And you say, ‘There, she’s gone.’ Did she go where? He went to a place that your vision can’t reach, that’s all!! He is still as big, as beautiful, as beautiful, as imposing as he was when he was close to you!! The diminished dimension is in you, not in him or her.”
And he continued: “And at that moment when you are saying: ‘He’s gone?’, there are other eyes watching him approach and other voices exclaiming with great joy and happiness!!! receiving them with open arms: (I am totally convinced that the first will be your lifelong partner, the great Wolf, beloved and dear father!!)”.
In his publication, ‘Zague’ asked his mother to leave in peace and assured that she will always be remembered by family and friends.
“Go in peace, adored, beautiful and dear mother… affectionate with that kindness, that generosity, that enormous, gigantic… infinite love that always characterized you!! Here on this side, be sure that your children, grandchildren, family and friends will remember you forever.”
The death of Cleide Gavranic was announced on Friday by the Ajusco television station through a message on its Facebook page.
“TV Azteca and Azteca Deportes regret the sensitive death of Mrs. Cleide Gavranic Alves dos Santos, mother of our sports commentator Luis Roberto Alves dos Santos Gavranix ‘Zague’. We join in the grief and wish quick resignation to family and friends.”
