A discovery of skeletal remains in a Westchester County park could help clarify some lingering questions about a shooting in Connecticut in 2023, according to a report.

Greenburgh authorities found the remains inside Rumbrook Park on March 21, near a vehicle linked to a daylight shooting in New Haven, Connecticut, that left a man in critical condition, Iohud.com reported.

Likewise, a gun was found near the skeleton, although it has not been determined if it is linked to the person’s death or to last year’s shooting, the outlet says.

However, the car matches the description of the 2023 suspect vehicle.

According to the New Haven Register, the incident took place on Young Street in the Beaver Hills neighborhood of New Haven before 11:30 a.m., leaving the victim in critical but stable condition.

The victim later recovered from his injuries.

New Haven Police Department spokesman Christian Bruckhart said last week that the car found on a path in Greenburgh Park is believed to be linked to the shooting.

Police are waiting for the remains to be positively identified.
