San Juan – The Puerto Rican urban artist CDobleta is detained as a suspect in the murder of agent Eliezer Ramos Vélez last Friday at the entrance of a public residential complex (popular neighborhood) in Carolina, a municipality adjacent to San Juan.
CDobleta, whose given name is Luis Nomar Isaac Sánchez, was placed under arrest on Monday night by agents of the Intelligence and Arrests Division of the Puerto Rico Police, after surrendering to security forces, authorities reported in their social networks.
The urban interpreter turned himself in, after the authorities intensified their search for being a person of interest in the case of the murder of agent Ramos Vélez in the Sabana Abajo public residential complex in Carolina.
The singer remained a fugitive despite the fact that he had another federal case pending, for which an arrest warrant was recently issued against him.
“Things are my way now. I don’t have compe” (sic) was the last message published by CDobleta.
Three days ago, special agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) from San Juan executed four arrest warrants at the Luis Lloréns Torres residential complex, one of which was against CDobleta.
A federal judge of the District Court of Puerto Rico signed a criminal complaint accusing the singer and Joshua Enrique Bula Cartagena, Kevin Manuel Bonilla Ramírez and Eli Yaniel Couvertier Pollock of illegal possession of a machine gun and complicity.
During the operation, HSI arrested Couvertier Pollock, who is now in custody, but the other three individuals remain at large.
HSI asked for citizen cooperation to find the whereabouts of these three men, who are presumed – the note added – “to be armed and dangerous.”
Agent Ramos Vélez, 35, was killed at the entrance to the Sabana Abajo residential complex, where he chased some individuals who were involved in a shootout between vehicles on the Román Baldorioty de Castro express.
Last Friday, the Puerto Rico Police occupied Sabana Abajo and other public housing complexes in the municipality of Carolina, as they believe that the armed men hid in those places.
