The lukewarm reception of the latest album by Latin singer Jennifer López, “This Is Me… Now”, has made something clear: the one born in The Bronx has taken a back seat in the current musical field.

And despite announcing with “fanfare” the arrival of a new album, after more than 10 years of not publishing new album material, after “AKA” in 2014, the new album by the “On The” singer Floor” did not obtain the expected success as it failed to surpass position number 38 on the Top Billboard. Likewise, the homonymous audiovisual material that accompanied her album, as well as the documentary that narrates its entire development, “The Greatest Story Love Never Told”, failed to connect with the public and critics.

In addition to the above, it was revealed in previous weeks that the singer was forced to cancel 7 concerts, in various cities in the United States, due to supposedly low ticket sales. Given this, and despite the failure of the album, the singer would have made a radical decision to try to “make up” for her failure: change the name of her tour.

According to Variety, the singer decided to change the name of her tour, initially called “This Is Me… Now”, to “This Is Me… Live/The Greatest Hits” with the aim of reaching more people.

The new name of the tour also makes it clear that the Latin businesswoman also intends to include her best hits within her long career while performing the new songs from her album. Even, and due to the unexpected change, it has been mentioned that the Latin artist could focus her tour on a series of nostalgia shows.

It is worth remembering that according to López’s former publicist, Rob Shuter, the main reason for the failure of the singer’s new material is because “no one is interested” in her relationship with actor and director Ben Affleck. In previous interviews, and in her own songs, the artist has revealed that her relationship with the American was the cornerstone for the conception of “This Is Me… Now”, in addition to the fact that several of the songs narrate an episode in the long and well-known love story among the stars.

It is important to mention that Jennifer López’s tour, announced last February, has a start date of June 26 in the city of Orlando and Miami, Florida. Likewise, the tour had planned the singer’s visit to more than 30 cities in the United States.

However, and after the recent cancellation of 7 concerts, it is not known exactly if the singer intends to reschedule these shows or simply eliminate them from her itinerary.
