Authorities in Florida are investigating the discovery of a baby’s remains in a garbage plant in West Palm Beach.

The discovery was made on Tuesday night.

Local media such as NBC Miami reported that a worker from the Solid Waste Authority was the one who called 911, around 5:25 pm that day, to alert them of the remains discovered at the SWA Renewable Energy Facility.

The facilities are located on North Jog Road, West Palm Beach Police said.

“We found possible human remains on our warehouse floor,” the worker told 911.

West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jachles said the warehouse floor is where trucks stop to dump their cargo.

Detectives found the remains in the dumping area.

At the moment, the investigation is focused on identifying the remains, and that process requires less forensic personnel.

Additionally, officers are reviewing surveillance camera videos to see if they can determine which truck transported the material.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Dennis Hardiman at 561-822-1896 or submit tips through Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS (8477). Data may be provided anonymously.
