Ricardo González Jr. expressed his disappointment and frustration towards Humberto Zurita for his alleged refusal to play Cepillín in a biographical series about the life of the iconic clown. Furthermore, he accused the prominent actor of being “arrogant” and of not having the humility or sensitivity to understand the importance of his father’s legacy.
Furthermore, González Jr. pointed out that Zurita’s attitude represents a lack of respect towards the memory of Cepillín and towards all the fans who have supported him throughout his career. He stated that his father deserves to be remembered and honored in the right way, and that the actor is missing a great opportunity to contribute to that.
“I would have to know the script because bioseries are a complicated project. Those who have taken out always have problems. I don’t take on the job of how much you are going to pay me, I always ask for a synopsis of characters, a general recording plan, the directors. I don’t do just anything,” Zurita mentioned in an interview offered in ‘De Primera Mano’.
“The truth is that I see the man as very arrogant. He made me very sorry. I feel like when you get to a certain age you should be more grounded. “You are talking about the most famous clown in Latin America,” said Ricardo.
Cepillín’s son did not hide his discontent with Humberto and made it clear that he does not approve of his attitude towards the proposal to play Cepillín. Although the reasons behind Zurita’s refusal are unknown, González Jr.’s reaction reflects the passion and love he feels for his father and for his legacy as an artist.
“At some point they asked me who I would like to play the role of Ricardo González ‘Cepillín’. So, I see similar features and features to my dad. Not at the age of 30 or 40, but in old age, which is where the gentleman is,” he added in a visibly angry video.
So far, Humberto Zurita has not responded to Ricardo González Jr.’s statements about his refusal to play Cepillín.
