The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this Sunday that his country will lose the war against Russia if the United States Congress does not approve a military aid package to repel the invasion of Moscow’s troops.
“It is necessary to specifically tell Congress that if they do not help Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war,” Zelensky said during a videoconference meeting of the fundraising group launched by his government, United24.
They expect help of $60,000 million
Ukraine, invaded by Russia in February 2022, awaits approval of an additional $60 billion US aid package, blocked in the House of Representatives in Washington, where Republicans are in the majority.
Zelensky stated that it would be “difficult” for Ukraine to “maintain” [sobrevivir] without American help and stressed that “if Ukraine loses the war, other countries will be attacked.”
The approval of the new aid package depends on the good will of Donald Trump’s supporters in the House, who refuse to examine the text as it stands due to a dispute over immigration regulation.

The president of Ukraine gave a message in which he noted “The situation in Kharkiv is very tough. Russian terror is constant. “The Russians began using guided aerial bombs against the city almost daily.”
He continued: “We are looking for ways to increase Kharkiv’s ability to protect the sky. “This is a task for both our military and our diplomats, who are in charge of international communication and must maintain daily dialogue with partners,” he expressed in part of the post.
Help is “vital,” Zelensky said
The United States will hold presidential elections in November. In recent days, Zelensky insisted that this aid is “vital” for the former Soviet republic.
In February the Senate finally cleared the last hurdle and approved, with votes from the Democratic Party and some votes from senators from the Republican Party, a bill to help with $95 billion for Ukraine, Israel, among others.
Last March, NATO countries strongly condemned the latest Russian air attacks against Ukraine, and pledged to continue strengthening Ukrainian defenses, whose authorities denounced that Moscow’s offensive has focused on civilian infrastructure.
In a statement issued after a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, convened in the wake of recent Russian attacks, the allies recalled that they are providing unprecedented military, financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
