The British comedian Russell Brand, who was accused last year of abuse and sexual assault, caused the anger of some Internet users by revealing that he began his path to Christianity and that he has been baptized to leave the past behind.

Through his Instagram account, the actor from the film ‘Rock of Ages’ shared a video in which he explained that the reason why he decided to be baptized is to be reborn and, in a way, leave behind the controversies he has had. in recent months.

“What they have explained to me is that it is an opportunity to die and be reborn. An opportunity to leave the past behind and be reborn in the name of Christ. As it says in (the epistle to the) Galatians: ‘that you can live as an enlightened and awakened person,’” he explained.

Brand said this baptism means a new life in the name of God and that he seeks to live in an enlightened way to be at peace.

However, once again he finds himself in the eye of the hurricane, because on social networks they consider the comedian to be a liar who seeks to evade the consequences of his actions.

The actor from the film ‘Arthur’ was accused of rape, sexual and emotional abuse against four women in the period from 2006 to 2013.

He was also accused of sexually assaulting an extra who participated in ‘Arthur’ in the bathroom on a set.
