In the surprising story of the winner of the $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot, Cheng Saephan, 46, has left the public stunned by revealing the curious ritual he performed to attract luck before the drawing.

Saephan, who was recently announced as the winner of the April 7 drawing, shared his curious ritual with reporters while expressing his excitement over the blessing his family had received.

According to Saephan, a few days before the April 7 drawing, he, his wife Duanpen Saephan, and their friend Laiza Liem Chao, bought 20 lottery tickets.

All three won with the selection of numbers 22, 27, 44, 52, 69 and the red Powerball 9.

But what made this act more than just a purchase was the ritual he performed before the night of the drawing.

“I wrote down the numbers I would play in the Powerball drawing on a piece of paper and slept with it under my pillow,” Saephan told reporters.

“I prayed to God to help me. “My children are small and I am not very healthy,” he added.

The winner said that he is not in good health, because he has cancer, and in fact, he plans to use the money to get a good doctor to treat him.

Also that, although he hit the jackpot big time, he plans to continue playing the lottery. “I might get lucky again. I’ll keep playing,” he joked.

Saephan, who will split the prize equally with his wife and friend, will also use the money to buy a house.
