The long-awaited fight between Mexicans Saúl Álvarez and Jaime Munguía, scheduled for this Saturday, May 4 at the emblematic T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, is getting closer and closer.
The fight promises to be memorable, the Guadalajara boxer will be defending his titles in the super middleweight category of the main boxing organizations: World Council, World Association, World Organization and International Federation.
The “Mexican boxing night” will not only capture attention for the sporting talent, but also for the festive atmosphere that is expected thanks to the special musical performances.
What acts will be featured in the Canelo vs Munguía fight?
Following the tradition of his last duels, Saúl Álvarez chose to integrate regional Mexican music into his presentation, for which he has invited Luis R. Conriquez, known for his corridos tumbados, to accompany him from the locker room to the ring. The singer is scheduled to premiere a special corrido for the occasion.
On the other hand, Jaime Munguía will have the musical support of the Baja California band Reik, who will lead the way on his way to the ring. For its part, the band Reik, originally from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and formed in 2003, has experienced a notable evolution in its musical career since its founding. Starting with romantic ballads, the group has expanded its repertoire to include genres such as reggaeton and Latin pop since 2018. Made up of Jesús Navarro, Julio Ramírez and Bibi Marín, the group has been awarded with recognitions such as the Latin Billboard Music Award, four awards The MTV Latin America Awards and a Latin Grammy.
