A 79-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in The Bronx (NYC) shortly after a person called 911 to report hearing an argument.
The incident occurred in the same residential building on Grand Concourse near E. 156th St. where a Dominican mother was shot to death five years ago. This time officers were called at 11:23 pm on Monday. When they arrived, they found the victim dead inside the apartment, he said. DailyNews.
His name was not immediately released. The cause of death has not yet been officially determined but police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Maybe there’s something wrong with that building. “I hope they find out what happened.”
In December 2018, Wendy Martínez, a 45-year-old mother, was shot to death in that same building when an armed man rang her doorbell and shot her through the peephole while she saw who was there. Police then said it was a “street trial” in revenge for a 2014 homicide of which her son had been accused.
Martínez’s mother lived next door to the woman who died now. Leyda Martínez, 48, said the family left the building after the death of her sister Wendy. “After that we all moved out of that place,” she said. “Maybe there’s something wrong with that building. I feel bad for her. I hope they find out what happened.”
