The Unified Command reported that after a month they managed to recover the body of another victim missing when a freighter crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore on March 26.

Authorities said in a statement that the fifth victim was identified as Miguel Ángel Luna González, 49, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, the Unified Command said.

“We remain dedicated to ongoing recovery operations, knowing that behind every person lost in this tragedy is a loving family,” said Col. Roland L. Butler, Jr., superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police.

Maryland State Police investigators along with Maryland Transportation Authority police officers and the FBI responded to the scene where they recovered the body of the fifth construction worker, which was inside a red truck.

The Maryland State Police Underwater Recovery Team and Crime Scene Unit were also on scene to provide assistance.

“Together with our local, state and federal partners, we ask that everyone extend their deepest condolences and support to the families during this difficult time,” Col. Butler added in the statement.

Four bodies found last month

The bodies of Alejandro Hernández Fuentes, 35, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, and Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, 38, were recovered by authorities who are continuing the investigation.

The fourth body that was found last month, at the request of the family, did not reveal the name.

It has been more than a month since the Singapore-flagged container ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which connects Hawkins Point and Dundalk, Maryland, causing the bridge to collapse on the lower Patapsco River. This incident paralyzed all maritime traffic in and out of the Port of Baltimore.

During the incident involving the ship, eight highway crew workers, who were on break repairing potholes, were present on the bridge when it collapsed.

To date, 171 commercial vessels have transited the four alternative channels. 137 containers of the 180 needed to access the part of the bridge over the Dali freighter have been removed.
