Despite the crisis in the real estate sector, there are still great businesses. An example of this is the recent sale of a mansion in Hollywood Hills, California, that belonged to television host Bob Barker.
This property entered the real estate market at the end of March of this year, the place was available for $2.98 million dollars. However, the residence has reportedly sold for $3.78 million.
The happy buyer was the interior designer Julia Dempster, who showed off the new acquisition through her Instagram account.
Dempster shared a post on Instagram where he shares some of the publications made by the media about the purchase. In the same post he wrote: “I feel incredibly blessed to be the new custodian of Bob Barker’s iconic Outpost Estate in Hollywood! The stars aligned, the price was right, and now I can call this stunning piece of history home. Here’s to new beginnings and appreciating the legacy of this beautiful home.”
In this message, the designer shows her emotion for the place, and also professes the respect she has for the historic home.
What Bob Barker’s old house looks like
The newly sold mansion belonged to the late television host Bob Barker since 1969, although it was originally built in 1929, six years after the host of ‘The Price is Right’ was born.
During the years following its construction, changes were made to the place, but it is said that Barker did nothing during the more than 50 years that he owned the residence. The agents in charge of the sale stressed at all times that the new owners would have to invest in repairing some aspects of the residence.
The interior designer will now be able to create a 4,855-square-foot main house comprised of four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, foyer, living room, great room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.
In addition to the main house there is a garage and a basement that can be adapted according to the needs of the new owner.
