After a video went viral in recent days showing the Oscar winner, Robert De Niro, having an alleged dispute with pro-Palestinian Protestants in New York, the actor’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, broke his silence to clarify the situation.
In this footage, lasting just a few seconds, the “Killers Of The Flower Moon” singer could be seen having a “heated” fight in which he waves his arms violently while shouting with great fury.
Given this video, various local media claimed that the businessman had also had a discussion with militants in favor of Palestine, in the war he maintains with Israel, whom he reproached for their presence to the point of “sending them home.”
This is not a movie! This is not a movie!… Move behind the barricade, do you like to talk nonsense? Well, go home.”
It was all part of the production
With just a few hours of being shared on various social networks, Robert De Niro was placed in the “eye of the hurricane” when he was accused of being intolerant for his attitude towards Protestants.
However, and given the actor’s position of silence, it was his publicist who decided to clarify the situation. And according to Rosenfield, the video was “taken” completely out of context because De Niro’s alleged fight was a scene from the new Netflix series that is being filmed in New York.
What they saw was a straight scene from the Netflix series, ‘Zero Days,’ with Robert reading lines exactly as they are written in the script.”
Rosenfield’s statement was joined by a statement made by the spokesperson for the streaming platform, who added that the video captured corresponds to a “location rehearsal” carried out on April 27.
So far, and after recent confirmations from De Niro’s publicist and the streaming company, the actor has not mentioned or added any further information to what was shared.
