The reason for the crash is unclear and no arrests have been announced. A spokesperson for WPIX-TV issued a statement later Friday saying: “Our hearts go out to those involved and their families. WPIX is a popular news station broadcast on Channel 11 in New York, owned by The CW Television Network and operated by its majority owner, Nexstar Media Group.
Last month three people died in a spectacular multiple-vehicle accident that sparked a raging fire on a highway in South Brunswick, New Jersey.
At the end of January, three elderly people died and another adult was injured in a violent crash between a car and a school bus in New Jersey.
The authorities remember that there is zero tolerance for drivers who drive at excess speed and/or under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Cyclists and motorcyclists are also frequent protagonists of road accidents, as victims and perpetrators, when riding on sidewalks, disrespecting traffic lights and even the direction of the streets.
