Conor McGregor, former UFC champion and current owner of the bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship), has proposed that Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Óscar de la Hoya resolve their differences in a fight in his company.
McGregor’s proposal comes after the tense clash between Canelo and De la Hoya at the press conference prior to the Mexican’s fight against Jaime Munguía.
On his Twitter account, McGregor wrote: “I would love to have these two in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. “Take off your gloves and fight, bitch!”
This is not the first time that McGregor has challenged Canelo. In the past, the Irishman had already expressed his interest in fighting the Mexican champion. Canelo, for his part, has been open to the idea of fighting an MMA fighter, as long as the financial offer is attractive.
In addition to challenging Canelo and De La Hoya, McGregor also took the opportunity to criticize Ryan García for his positive doping test and to praise Devin Haney.
McGregor was “disgusted” by the news of Garcia’s doping and threatened to “fight him” if he saw it.
As for Haney, the Irishman congratulated him on his victory over Yuriorkis Gamboa and described him as “a true champion.”
