The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was the scene of Canelo Álvarez’s return to the ring, who put his WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF super middleweight champion titles on the line against his compatriot Jaime Munguía.
Canelo defeated the Tijuana native by unanimous decision of the judges (117-110, 116-111 and 115-112).
In a spectacular fight, which had many moments of emotion, Álvarez not only managed to defend his titles, but also took home a very large financial prize.

According to specialized journalism, Canelo earned up to $35 million dollars in a one-fight deal with Premier Boxing Champions. It is worth mentioning that in his last fight, against Jermell Charlo, he earned between 25 and $30 million dollars.
Although it is true that there was no official confirmation, it was known that the purse for Jaime Munguía is between 3 and $10 million dollars. That is, an amount considerably less than Canelo’s, although undoubtedly a high figure.
