Club Monterrey has been sanctioned by FIFA due to an irregularity in the transfer process.

According to the newspaper Récord, the sanction occurred because “a third party was affected” during the transfer process of Joao Rojas to Emelec.

Apparently, the transfer was not registered on time in the FIFA system, which led to the sanction.

However, AS has reported that there is peace within the Monterrey Club, since the sanction will not proceed. Apparently, this was an error on the part of FIFA, which will be corrected shortly.

The FIFA website is expected to be updated on Monday, following the request and clarification sent by the Monterrey team.

This news is a relief for Club Monterrey, which was already preparing an appeal against the sanction.

With this, the team will be able to move forward with its plans for next season without any type of setback.
