Real Madrid has won its 36th League title, certifying its dominance in the Spanish competition with a comfortable victory against Cádiz at the Santiago Bernabéu (3-0) and taking advantage of Barcelona’s subsequent defeat against Girona at Montilivi (4-2 ).

With this victory, the white team is crowned champion with four days remaining in the championship, a feat that had only occurred on three previous occasions in the club’s history (1960-61, 1962-63 and 1974-75). .

Real Madrid’s superiority during the season has been incontestable, accumulating 87 points in 34 games, 13 points above Girona and 14 above Barcelona.

This new title consolidates Real Madrid as the most successful team in LaLiga, with 36 Leagues under its belt, nine more than Barcelona (27) and eleven more than Atlético de Madrid (11).

On a day of double celebration, Girona also reached a historic milestone by securing its participation in the next edition of the Champions League thanks to its victory over Barcelona.

Míchel Sánchez’s team overcame a 2-0 deficit, the work of Andreas Christensen (3′) and Robert Lewandowski (45+1′), with three goals in a frenetic final stretch of the match: two from Portu (65′ and 74′) and one from Miguel Gutiérrez (71′).

This victory for Girona not only gives them a place in the top European competition, but also served to confirm Real Madrid’s League title, certifying the white team’s supremacy in Spanish football.
