The technical director of the Tuzos del Pachuca, Guillermo Almada, was quite focused on having the best possible performance against the Águilas of Club América for the match corresponding to the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2024 tournament of the MX League where they will seek to advance from round to keep alive his aspirations to become Aztec football champion.
These statements were made during the press conference after the 2-1 victory they achieved this Sunday against Rayos de Necaxa in the last duel to achieve a place in the Liguilla in a highly contested match by both organizations.
“No two games are the same, it is a different championship, America has a large squad with great players, a great coach, it will be a very complicated key, but we go with our weapons, enthusiasm and our identity, but trusting in the players and above all at work,” said the Uruguayan strategist.
“The calendar of the two championships has punished us a lot, now the only thing we have to try is to recover, dose and put those who are better and more recovered on Wednesday. We are going to privilege the physical part, those who are closer to 100 percent,” he highlighted.
Regarding the expulsion of Oussama Idrissi at the end of the match, the strategist revealed that he had a conversation with the footballer and he informed him that his applauding gesture was directed at the public and not at the rival as the main referee came to think.
“He told us that he was reciprocating the applause that people gave him, these are situations, he was already sitting on the bench, I don’t know, we have to see it well, but we listened to him and he wanted to be a little reciprocal with the people,” he emphasized. Guillermo Almada.
Finally, the coach spoke about the chants that the fans make at the Hidalgo Stadium against the Águilas players of Club América; He explained that this is simply part of the sporting environment because they are their next rivals.
“They are football folklores, people can say whatever they want, for that they pay an entrance fee. The feeling of joy, satisfaction because these players have had a spectacular semester so far and today they confirmed all that. We lacked freshness in the first half, but we got a well-deserved victory and the classification that should have come sooner due to what we demonstrated in the championship,” he concluded.
