FC Barcelona continues to generate controversy in the middle of a less than successful season. After the “explosion” of the club president Joan Laporta about the low level of the team, now André Cury, agent of Vitor Roque, criticized the lack of opportunities of the Brazilian player in Barcelona and the lack of communication with coach Xavi Hernández.
In an interview given to the French media RAC1, Cury did not hold back anything when giving his opinion about Xavi Hernández and giving information about the relationship he has with the player.
“I always watch Barça games because I like it a lot, but this year we are suffering a little. I didn’t talk to Vitor about the fever, we are listening to what is happening. But regardless, I think Vitor Roque has to have more minutes. Nobody understands why they don’t give it to them. “Xavi has never spoken to the player, I don’t understand this situation either, it’s not right for any party,” said André Cury.
“The boy has to work and work harder. And wait for the opportunity. But in my opinion I think that there were already many, many games in which those minutes could have been given, so that today we would not be talking about this issue,” he noted.
However, the agent assured that the Brazilian player “is very strong physically at the moment. Obviously with a bit of enthusiasm to want to demonstrate, because in the club and the press they talk a lot of nonsense.”
“We have spoken with Deco. The boy has a contract with Barça and if we chose Barça having other options for double the money it was because we wanted to play for Barcelona. As soon as there is an opportunity we will be prepared. I’m sure that Vitor is going to be a great player, but if Barça doesn’t let him… The club or the coach, I don’t know what’s happening internally. There we have to find another way,” he noted.
Regarding a possible loan for Vitor Roque, the agent was blunt: “Either the player stays so they can give him minutes to demonstrate or if the club decides that the player cannot stay, he will be sold. There are interested teams, many. I do not know what is going to happen. The club has never told me anything. In my opinion, they can give him more minutes. Xavi gives them to Fermín, Cubarsí, Lamine… and not Vitor. I don’t know how to explain, he is the coach. They conceded many goals against Girona, Real Madrid…”
“By minutes, he is the team’s top scorer. I explain to my friend Xavi that trust has to come from him. He manages the team and is the one who has to transmit that trust. Give minutes and good ones, not bad ones with 12 minutes left. Not like in Cádiz… The player has nothing to do with this, it’s me. I don’t see it logical that you bring a boy from Brazil, put him to play on the first day as soon as he arrives and then don’t put him in again. Against PSG you needed a goal, not an assist. If Xavi doesn’t see it that way, be patient,” he noted.
