Argentine authorities share list of violent fans with the US for the Copa América

With the aim of preventing incidents during the Copa América 2024, the Argentine Ministry of Security shared with the United States Embassy the list of individuals with restricted admission rights under the “Safe Tribune” program. This measure seeks to prevent violent fans from entering the stadiums during the tournament that will be held from June 20 to July 14.

The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, emphasized on her Twitter account: “Copa América 2024 without violent Argentines. “We have agreed with the United States to provide information from the #SafeTribuna program on all the violent individuals whom we prohibit from entering football stadiums, so that no one can enter them during the competition.”

The minister also recalled that there is a security cooperation agreement between Argentina, the Department of Justice and the US Department of Homeland Security.

This action occurs a day after the Ministry of Security indefinitely banned 57 violent fans from access to sporting events, including the well-known Boca Juniors supporter Rafael di Zeo.

These measures were taken after the controls carried out on the buses traveling to the League Cup semi-final between Estudiantes and Boca Juniors, played on April 30. During these controls, firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized, and the 57 people involved were charged and incorporated into the Safe Tribune program.
