producer-reveals-she-regrets-not-suing-lindsay-lohan:-“it-was-a-big,-big,-big-mistake”Producer reveals she regrets not suing Lindsay Lohan: “It was a big, big, big mistake”

Actress and producer Bette Midler revealed in a recent interview the regret she has for not having sued Lindsay Lohan when she was only 14 years old.

According to the American, who appeared on actor David Duchovny’s podcast called “Fail Better”, Lohan was part of his semi-biographical series, which was called “Bette”, which told various passages from the real life of the producer in a satirical way.

During her participation, Midler herself revealed that she was the one who cast Lindsay in the role of her daughter in the series just two years before the actress debuted on the big screen with the 1998 film “The Parent Trap.”

However, according to the actress, Lohan only appeared in the pilot program and then “disappeared” from the production.

Why did Lindsay Lohan leave the Bette Midler series?

After this action, the American actress revealed that Lohan’s absence put her in “trouble” because due to her lack of experience as a producer she did not take stricter measures against the young star.

She decided she didn’t want to do it, or she had other issues to deal with, so Lindsay Lohan walked out of the building and I said, ‘Well, what do you do now?’ And the study didn’t help me, it was extremely chaotic.’”

According to Midler, and until the moment of her participation in Duchovny’s podcast, she does not know exactly the reason why the American actress left the production. However, and according to her intuition, she would have left on a “mere whim.”

Faced with this situation, Bette mentioned feeling sad and with some suspicion against the actress and the production itself for not having advised her to take the necessary measures against Lohan.

If I had been in my right mind, or if I had known that my part of my duties was to stand up and say: ‘this is no use at all, I’m going to sue.’”

Despite Lohan’s departure, Midler’s series began airing on the CBS network in 2000. However, just a few months later, and due to low viewership, the show only managed to air 22 episodes.

Due to the above, Midler herself revealed that it was not the “best idea” to make an autobiographical series: “It was a big, big, big, big mistake, I think for several reasons, it was the wrong motivation, it was a part of the media that I simply did not understand, I saw it, I appreciate it.”

After the departure of Midler’s series, Lohan debuted on the big screen with the film “The Parent Trap” in 1998. After this, the American became one of the most prominent actresses of her time thanks to a large number of productions such as “Mean Girls”, “Freaky Friday”, “Herbie: Fully Loaded”, among others.
