Austin FC has received the privilege and responsibility of organizing the 2025 MLS All-Star Game, something that will occur for the first time in the club’s still short history, Major League Soccer announced this Wednesday, letting it be known that said event will have Q2 Stadium as headquarters.

The team from the capital of Texas began its journey in the MLS in the 2021 season and only four years later it will be in charge of organizing the All-Star Game, an event that marks the middle of the tournament and that on previous occasions has featured top rivals level like the English Arsenal or the Liga MX all-star team.

The date and opponent for the 2025 MLS All-Star Game will be announced soon.

After the announcement was made official, MLS Commissioner Don Garber expressed his excitement at bringing this event to the Texas capital. “We are thrilled to bring the 2025 MLS All-Star Game to Austin, a market known for its rich cultural and entertainment scene and world-class events,” he said.

“Austin has quickly become one of our country’s top soccer markets, selling out 60 consecutive Austin FC matches and hosting many renowned soccer events over the past three years. “We look forward to working alongside the entire Austin FC staff and local leaders to deliver an unforgettable and exciting MLS All-Star Week for everyone,” he added.

The Q2 Stadium is a first-class venue and one of the best in the United States. It has a capacity for 20,738 spectators and has already hosted matches for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup and the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

This will be the second time since 2010 that the MLS All-Star Game will be held in Texas, remembering that the previous occasion was in Houston, in the stadium where the MLS Dynamo plays.

The majority owner and CEO of Austin FC, Anthony Precourt, emphasized how important it is for his team to be taken into account and chosen to be in charge of organizing an event as important as this. “Austin FC is honored to host our city’s first professional All-Star Game,” he said.

“Austin is a world-class soccer city, our fans are incredible and the culture that has been established here in a short period of time is a testament to our community’s passion for the game. “This is a special day and we are excited to welcome the league’s best to Q2 Stadium in 2025,” he said.
