In an unexpected twist of fate, Nathan Wood, a farmer from the small town of Kootenai, Idaho, became a millionaire overnight after winning $2 million in a Powerball drawing.

On May 15, Wood went to Arnie’s Payless Gas service station to fill up the tank of his truck, which had started making strange noises. While he waited, he decided to buy his usual lottery tickets: 2 Powerball and 2 Mega Millions. This impulsive decision turned out to be the luckiest of his life.

Days after the draw, it was his wife who gave him the news that would change his destiny. “She told me that we had matched the 5 white Powerball balls. I couldn’t believe it. And then I planted onions again,” Wood recounted, still amazed by his good fortune. Although he had a hard time processing the news at first, the reality of being a millionaire soon became clear.

Nathan decided to proceed with caution before claiming his prize. He contacted an accountant for financial advice to ensure his new financial status was handled prudently. “The first thing I’m going to do is fix the fuel pump on my truck,” he said.

The news of their victory not only brought joy to the Wood family, but also to the local community. Arnie’s Payless Gas station, where the winning ticket was sold, received a $25,000 commission from the Idaho Lottery.

Although Nathan has not yet decided how he will invest the rest of his earnings, he plans to make sound decisions to ensure the future well-being of his family and farm.
