In the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, in Antioquia, Colombia, this love story has moved all the inhabitants and has gone viral on social networks. María Georgina Muñoz and Daniel Hernández, affectionately known as Doña Georgina and Don Nalo, died on the same day and at the same time, despite being in places separated by kilometers of distance.

Last Friday, May 24, Mrs. Georgina, 85 years old, had traveled to Medellín for a medical appointment due to a hernia operation. However, during her stay in the hospital, her health was complicated by an infection, which led to her urgent transfer to another hospital in the town of Rionegro. Unfortunately, the woman suffered cardiorespiratory arrest and, despite her medical efforts, she died just minutes after being intubated.

Coincidentally, at the same time, Don Nalo suffered a heart attack in the municipality of Apartadó. He was taken to a local hospital, but he too died shortly after being admitted. This amazing coincidence has left the community stunned, remembering the deep connection between this couple, who could not be separated, not even by death, after more than 6 decades together.

Local journalist Jesús Ovidio Salazar, who knew the couple personally, was the first to report on this unusual event. “The love of old times is unique and unmatched, together we live and together we go,” Salazar expressed on his social networks, reflecting the feelings of all those who knew Mrs. Georgina and Mr. Nalo.

On Sunday, May 26, the bodies of both elderly people were taken back to their home in Pueblo Nuevo, where funeral services were held. Family and friends gathered to say goodbye to the couple in an emotional ceremony, remembering their life and legacy. For more than 60 years, Mrs. Georgina and Mr. Nalo were an example of love and commitment, raising their 8 children together and being a pillar in their community.
