On January 1, 2023, Jeremy Renner suffered a serious accident that almost cost him his life. After a long struggle to recover, the renowned actor visited the Jimmy Fallon show and told shocking details about the day a seven-ton snowplow ran over him.
The mishap happened when he tried to stop the sweeper from crushing his nephew and it got out of control, so much so that he was trapped on one of its wheels. “He got out of hand and I was going to crush him,” he mentioned seriously on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Although the injuries were multiple, during the interview he recalled a very critical one, which impressed many.
“You see one eye with the other because my eyeball came out.” At that moment, the actor concentrated on trying to breathe and not panic: “I had to exhale with all my strength to be able to inhale air again. He didn’t know he had a burst lung, but he just had to breathe. Otherwise, I would have died, forget about the eyeball and the broken bones.” In addition, he said that he has a prosthesis on his left leg and that part of his face and back are “metal.”
The interpreter of Hawkeye in ‘Avengers’ assured that since that dramatic episode he began to see life with different eyes. “I know that it is impossible for me to have a bad day for the rest of my life, that is my gift,” he reflected.
However, he admitted that memories of the accident still haunt him. “I relive what happened every night, it’s in my dreams,” he said honestly.

At 53 years old, Jeremy Renner feels like he was born again and believes he can achieve anything he sets his mind to. Because of this, he resumed his career and is working on the series ‘Mayor of Kingstown’, a Paramount police thriller.
The accident represented a hard blow for Renner, both physically and emotionally. However, his story shows remarkable resilience.
