The renowned Mexican boxing coach, Robert García, decided to make an analysis of the combat style of José ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela and revealed the advantages he has to emerge victorious in the confrontation he will play on August 3 against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and talked about the strategy you must apply to defeat him.

In statements offered during an interview for ESNEWS, the coach considered that Valenzuela can surprise the newly named super lightweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and this will be truly decisive when both are in the ring.

“Pitbull is a very, very tough fighter, he comes to the front all the time. So, it’s not going to be easy, you have to fight smart, have a fight plan, know how to listen, and be in great physical shape. That’s what you have to have to fight Pitbull, because he’s going to come in great physical shape, and he’s going to be in great physical shape until the last seconds of the fight. You have to be in great physical condition to have that fighting rhythm for 12 rounds,” he expressed.

“If Rayo arrives in great physical shape, I see him as a favorite. He has more size, he has punch, he has better movement, good footwork. All that could be in favor of Rayo,” Robert highlighted.

García highlighted that Pitbull Cruz is very consolidated in his physical and fighting qualities that have worked for him in his career as a professional and for this reason he considers that he will not change at all for this confrontation against Valenzuela.

“We already know that Pitbull is not the type of fighter who is going to go out and box. Pitbull is a very tough type of fighter, and he is not an easy fighter either. He is going to give everyone a tough fight, anyone at 140 pounds, but there are also ways to beat him,” he explained.

“It is difficult to find sparring partners like the Pitbull, who are short, fixative, who are throwing high balls all the time. It’s not easy, but we have to figure it out. I think that if Rayo stays focused, and continues training hard, and is in great shape, they can win,” the coach concluded in his statements.
