After Natalie Portman officially divorced Benjamin Millepied in February of this year due to an alleged infidelity committed by the dancer, everything seems to indicate that the actress is now willing to enjoy life again. Or at least that’s what it might seem like when you see the photos that the Daily Mail newspaper published this week. In the postcards, Portman, 42, and actor Paul Mescal, 28, were captured enjoying a moment alone.
The meeting took place at Bar 96 in Islington, London, on Tuesday. The actors, who met last year when they shared a special production for Variety magazine, seemed very entertained while sharing a cigarette at the entrance of the establishment.
While she opted for a super casual look – she was seen wearing worn straight jeans, a white t-shirt and tennis shoes – he chose a white t-shirt, high-waisted black pants and urban tennis shoes for the outing. In each of the images, attention is drawn to the artists’ gestures of complicity, the sincere laughter and the naturalness of the encounter.
The good chemistry between the actors emerged during an interview they conducted with Variety magazine. On that occasion, Mescal confessed to being an admirer of the experienced performer and defined her as a “brilliant” actress.
“If my drama school self knew I would be talking to you, I would pinch myself many, many times!” he told her on that occasion. She also praised her performance in “May December,” a film in which Natalie stars in a racy sex scene with Charles Melton, 33.
For her part, Portman complimented Paul on his sex scenes with Andrew Scott in “All of Us Strangers,” describing them as “very hot, but also very tender.”
