Actress and singer Selena Gómez opened up and revealed the reason why she is not ready to resume her musical side with a musical tour.
In a recent interview for Time magazine, the star of the musical film “Emilia Pérez” said she is not sure about returning to the stage because for her it is an exhausting experience and she prefers to be focused on keeping her mental health stable.
“Nothing makes me happier than 90 minutes of being with my fans and celebrating together… But it is very emotionally draining for me. And then you realize that you are surrounded by a group of people that you are paying,” said the “Calm Down” singer.
The former Disney girl added that after battling anxiety and depression, as side effects of lupus, an autoimmune disease she has battled for years, she tries to be more careful when selecting the people around her.
“It’s a cliché, but girls are bad. It’s a very strange competition, being in the cool girl area, and then I’m like there. “I don’t know where I belong.”
The singer added: “I love having sensible people around me who don’t give a damn about what I do. Even so, there are days when anxiety rules. It’s hard. You could be in a crowd and still feel alone. I still deal with it,” she said.
Selena Gómez has become an example for her followers by prioritizing her health and well-being and openly addressing her personal battles.
