“I want to emphasize that these results are preliminary, just like those that are being disseminated through the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) and are subject to confirmation of the district counts that will begin next Wednesday, June 5,” clarified the owner. of the INE.

Sheinbaum will take the place of AMLO, who, despite criticism of some of his policies by different sectors, enjoys an acceptance rate among the population of more than 60%.

After 200 years, Sheinbaum will be the first woman to lead Mexico: “we all arrived as our heroines,” she said during a thank-you speech, after learning the results.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo was born in Mexico City on June 24, 1962, she studied Physics at the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), she is the founder of the MORENA political party, and she was head of government from 2018 to 2023.
