American DJ and singer Diplo recently opened the doors of his home in Jamaica, a property that covers a large plot of land and that means a lot to him, as Jamaica has been a key country in his career.

Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, shared a tour of the property for ‘Architectural Digest’ magazine, a media specialized in real estate and design. Without a doubt, the simple advertisement of a tour in this magazine makes it clear that the remodeling and maintenance of the place is amazing.

10 years ago the DJ and musician purchased an impressive 50-acre plot of land in northwest Jamaica. His intention was to build an impressive residential complex that would serve as a retirement home, especially attractive because it was not in the United States or in any big city.

Buying the 50-acre lot was the least important thing, since later he had to face the problems that any construction project has. Diplo told ‘Architectural Digest’ that the terrain was not easy and that he and his team had to be very careful in all phases of the project.

To achieve all the objectives, Diplo was in charge of putting together a great team that was made up of the best specialists in each area. The team includes Lauren Crahan of Freecell Architecture studio (based in Brooklyn), architectural designer Gia Wolff and also included Sara Nataf, who has been its creative director for years.

After much research and study, the team decided to build the main structure using concrete as the main material. In the magazine they also explained that they decided to divide the residence into two: an area that is only used by Diplo and those closest to him, and another that is intended for other guests and guests.

But the house is not the only protagonist, as it is surrounded by extensive green areas with plantations that you can happily explore on horseback.
